The Journey Church exists to “Connect others to the transformational power of Christ”
What kind of church is The Journey?
The Journey’s name refers to the path each of us walks with God. When you begin to seek God, you begin a tremendous journey of faith seeking a powerfully loving God. Each journey is filled with excitement. Of course there are challenges, but Christ gives us the power & courage to press on. We rely on the love of Jesus Christ and our faith in Him to guide us safely & securely to our destination. He alone gives us the only destination worth journeying to!
We believe that everyone is on a spiritual journey. People deeply desire to walk with God. They attempt to pursue this either in the church or outside the church, but, make no mistake about it, this is a world where people are on spiritual journeys.
At The Journey Church we recognize that all people are at different places on their journey. And we want people to feel comfortable whether they are committed to the Lord, or whether they are searching for answers. Either way, the journey with God is something to be celebrated.
Furthermore, we believe that the journey through life is more exciting when you are traveling with Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. Faith in Jesus Christ gives the journey eternal significance. When you experience the forgiveness that Jesus gives and begin to walk with Him, you will find rich, exciting, purpose-filled life.
What is our mission?
Our mission is very simple: we are “inviting people to join together in a lifelong journey with Jesus.”
Specifically, our mission seeks to target people who are unconnected to a church. We want to reach the church shopper, the unchurched believer, the non-believer, and those who have been hurt by past church experiences.
We want to be a safe place for unconnected persons and families to find belonging in the church and grow into more fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
What we believe about…
God
We believe there is only one true God who is eternal, all-powerful, all-knowing, just and loving. We believe that God purposefully created the world and is personally engaged in the lives of human beings.
Humanity
We believe that every person is uniquely created in the image of God but, through sinful disobedience, is broken and alienated themselves from God, others, and the creation. The result is that every person is in need of healing and reconciliation.
Jesus Christ
We believe that God entered the world in human form in the person of Jesus Christ; Jesus Christ is both fully human and completely God. Jesus alone reconciled us with God, revealed God’s character, and inaugurated God’s Kingdom.
Salvation
We believe that through faith in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection our sinful disobedience is forgiven and that through repentance and surrender to God we are reconciled to Him for this life and eternity.
The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is God’s indwelling presence: the source of power, guidance, and conviction in the life of a follower of Christ.
The Church
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ on Earth and is the universal community of all Christ-followers. The Church finds its best expression in unique, local communities of Christ-followers united for the purpose of spreading the values of the Kingdom of God in the world.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible was written by human authors under the supernatural inspiration of God and is our authority for all matters of faith and practice.
